5 years together no sex, what could I have done different ? ?

When I first met my husband I thought he was a perfect gentleman, because our first few dates he wasn't pushy about sex. I really loved this about him we seemed to connect and I loved our long talks. When we had sex weeks later, he seemed to be having problems with keeping an erection but I didnt really say anything to hurt his feelings, but then I started thinking well maybe he just wasn't turned on by me, so I started having a bit of a complex. Each and every time it was like this, so I started to other things to him such as oral and found this exhausting because of the same problem. Our wedding night was a big disappointment nothing at all. I talked to him about this and he said it was because of his medical condition so i suggested viagra he used it a few times and it was great but wouldnt use it anymore because he said it interfered with his medication he was taking for high colestrol and high blood pressure and also he said he had really bad back pains when he took it. Three months passed and we had lost our home in hurricane Katrina, with all that stress it seemed easier to avoid it completely because i was feeling like he didnt care about my needs. Now 5 years later i had been building up resentment towards him, i gained so much weight because i ate to satisfy my depression, i just felt so rejected and unwanted. He would kiss me and hug me all the time but that just isnt the same. Just recently he left me said he didnt want to be married anymore, he cried the day he left and told me that he didnt feel like a real man, it broke my heart when i saw him breakdown that way, but i told him he could have done other things to make up for this. I still love him very much and just wanted him to get some help. Anyway he left I know he feels he let me down, I still miss and love him, he was my best friend. I know he is seeing someone else but he said they are just friends. I cant understand if he has this problem why would he even want to put it on another women if he knew it was a big dissapointment for me. I have been very devasted because I honored my vows and didnt cheat on him and still love him regardless.
